Please be aware that customs duty and GST as well as Quarantine (AQIS) fees may be applicable once your cargo undergoes clearance in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

  • Pre-alert, bill of landing or notification of arrival.
  • Packing list.
  • Commercial invoice.
  • Packing Declaration [For sea shipments, we are able to provide a blank form upon request].
  • Letter of Authority [We will send you a blank template of this document to fill out]

The last step in our service is customer clearance. This means that our customs clearance agents in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne will…

  • Compile your customs entry, classify commodity and lodge the customs entry to customs and quarantine.
  • After customs lodgment is complete, we make sure to notify you of any quarantine inspections or customs documents that your cargo was required to undertake.
  • A tax invoice of duty/GST and any other applicable government charges will be sent to you along with your customs entry and receipt of any quarantine fees that were paid on your behalf.
  • Once your cargo has been released from quarantine and undergone customs clearance in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, we will notify you of your its status.
  • As the last step and most important step in our service, we then arrange delivery straight to your front door or nominated address if requested by you.

What is the process of Customs Clearance ?

Provide us with all appropriate documentation including a bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing declaration and letter of authority ((We will send you blank template to fill it out).

0ur Customs Brokers will evaluate your specific circumstance in accordance with the Australian Customs Tariff and inform you of the best possible method to proceed with customs clearance.

We will create a customs entry and lodge your cargo with Customs and AQIS (Australian Quarantine Inspection Service).

We will notify you of the result of the clearance (i.e. whether AQIS want to check your goods) and send an invoice with a copy of your customs entry, the receipt from Customs for all Duty/GST we have paid on your behalf

 

How to calculate duty and GST?

Customs duty will be generally 5% of customs value and GST will be 10% of VOTI (VOTI = Customs value + Overseas freight & Insurance + Customs Duty)

 

Any other charges except Customs clearance before I pick up my goods from wharf?

There will be a Port charges. Port charges are charged by the shipping company responsible for your goods. They are pre-determined at origin. They typically range from $50 - $80/ cubic metre. Please keep these costs in mind when importing goods into Australia! Generally Supplier should make aware about this hidden charges once goods reach to Australia.
